Brief History: The resort area of Ocho Rios ("Ochi" for short) is a town in the parish of Saint Ann, on the north coast of Jamaica.   It was once a fishing village, but has since helped to launch large-scale tourism in Jamaica.  It is a port of call for cruise ships as well as cargo ships loading sugar, limestone, and in the past, bauxite.

St. Ann Parish as a whole is known as the "garden parish" because of its great beauty with lush, vibrantly hued foliage.

Why Ocho Rios: Ocho Rios holds meaning to us for several reasons.

  • When Omarr was first able to introduce Christina to Jamaica outside of Kingston (and the clutches of his family), they vacationed in Ochi.
  • We like to think about our friends and family first.  Since Ochi is equidistant from Jamaica's two airports, it provides maximum flight options for our guests flying in, and also reasonable commutes for guests on-island who reside in Mobay and Kgn (and anywhere in-between).
